Bärbel Schwaiger, Programme Director of Sanitation for Millions, was invited to be a guest in the podcast “Mal angenommen” by the German news programme Tagesschau. This episode of the podcast is a thought experiment on what could happen if toilets for all became a reality. Bärbel Schwaiger shared how the current lack of toilets affects school children, especially girls during menstruation, what issues and cultural contexts need to be considered when building new sanitation facilities, and how the project is working to increase access to safe sanitation.
